Hey all, just wondering if there were any tenative plans for another
gathering in the CT area before it gets any colder. The DEP gathering was my first
event and now i'm hooked. I've only been boxing a couple weeks so i missed out on
the ginger meets molly event :( Let me know, i'd like to help out if i can.

Nice to see the enthusiasm. Its refreshing following the flame wars
we've seen recently!
Anyone interested in a mid-winter gathering? Short hikes with a warm
place nearby??

Our first event was last year's Kid's Day (10/20/03). Is Kid's Day an annual event? If not, I would be willing to "help" organize "a second annual" - However, I do not have the placement or carving skills that many of you do, so I would need help...
Possible date: Sunday, November 2
Location?? Rocky Neck seemed to work well and there certainly are many boxes there for people to find.
Let me know what you think...I am open to any ideas or suggestions.

That sounds outstanding! I'm sure if we all put our heads together and
commit, we could pull off a mini-gathering that may temporarily satisfy our
hunger.(yeah, right!) That's rocky neck state park in CT.,right ? C'mon everyone---a
cool & clear day, some food cooked over an open flame, and most important of
all---a day of LETTERBOXING!!!! We have to make up for the rain that put a
damper on what could have been the PERFECT day. Let's hear some thoughts and
ideas on this, it could be great.-------Northstar

Kids Day 2002 was also our first dabbling in letterboxing. And Rocky
Neck is a special place for us as we held our wedding reception there
in October last year as well!
What I was kind of thinking was something like a "Connecticut
Icebreaker" in say... January or February? I'm just not sure where
to have such an event as you will have to have some indoors facility
for folks to get warmed up in -- Heidi and I don't really look
forward to having to use our EMT skills : ) We think Nov 2nd is a
bit quick to plan an event and it seems that Ginger Meets Molly was
the big event for the fall. Maybe it is even best to wait until
spring thaw? I know we are very busy for the next 2-3 weeks with work
and life in general (and I know many other boxers who are busy
too!).
Also a consideration is that once November swings in there will be a
lot of folks getting busy with the holidays etc. If we can come to a
consensus on the "theme" and a general time frame it will give folks
a lot of cold days and nights to get carving by the fireside!
